read an ebook week!

Fans of all things digital should mark March 7th to 13th in their calender, because starting from today it’s Read an Ebook Week!

Recognized since 2004, “Read an E-Book Week educates and informs the public about the pleasures and advantages of reading electronically” — make sure to check out the list of participating online bookstores offering either free or discounted ebooks throughout this week!

Then it struck me: why not take advantage of this week to encourage not only ebook reading, but online reading in general? This is a perfect time for us authors and readers of webfiction to toot our own horn a little!

Miladysa, author of Refuge of Delayed Souls, has already taken action and is offering the ebooks for free if you use the coupon RFREE over on SmashWords.

So what are you waiting for? Spread the word! Promote Read an eBook Week in whichever way tickles your fancy: through public readings, library displays, reading challenges, school visits, newspaper and blog articles, chat show appearances, internet radio interviews, e-book give-ways, strip teases, and more.

[Twitter fiends, the accepted hashtag is #ebookweek and you can follow @ebookweek to keep appraised of new developments!]

And while you’re at it, tell me: what are your favourite electronic reads?

About A.M. Harte

A.M. Harte writes twisted speculative fiction, such as the post-apocalyptic Above Ground and the zombie love anthology Hungry For You. She is excellent at missing deadlines, has long forgotten what ‘free time’ means, and is utterly addicted to chocolate.
