5 minutes with Lyn Thorne-Alder

Lyn’s dark fantasy webfiction Addergoole was among my first discoveries in the world of online fiction, and I remain keenly addicted to this serial today. A while ago, Lyn started posting her second serial — Wild One’s Blood — which is set in the same world as Addergoole. I asked her five quick questions about the story.

How wild are you?

LT: Not nearly as much so as I was when I was young, but “still crazy, after all these years.”

How about your characters — who is the “wild one”?

LT: Fenny, definitely. Barely tame, rough around the edges. Plus, don’t tell Nathaniel, but it’s her story.

How much does Wild One’s Blood overlap with your other ongoing serial, Addergoole?

LT: They’re in the same world, in different eras. Toy is mentioned in a bonus story of Addergoole (In the Hall of the Elf Queen), but that link is pretty much the only direct link.

Fill in the blank: People who like __________ will like Wild One’s Blood.

LT: “The Year’s Best Fantasy and Horror” anthologies and Ellen Datlow & Terri Windling’s Fairy Tale anthologies.

Who is the sexiest character in WOB, and why?

LT: None of them are very sexy. Lady Jinani SilverRope, probably, as she has that Victorian Madame thing down pat.

Now go read Wild One’s Blood (if you’re over 18).

About A.M. Harte

A.M. Harte writes twisted speculative fiction, such as the post-apocalyptic Above Ground and the zombie love anthology Hungry For You. She is excellent at missing deadlines, has long forgotten what ‘free time’ means, and is utterly addicted to chocolate.
